Back to School

Welcome to Room 3's blog everyone!

My name is Miss Kraan and I am the teacher in Room 3 at Matakana Primary School. I know that I have really enjoyed the Christmas holidays and hope that everyone has had a chance to relax and have fun! It has been a very warm summer so far, so I hope you all spent plenty of time at the beach-being sun safe of course!

With Term 1 swinging back into gear on Monday the 4th of February, Room 3's very own blog is set up ready to present our learning this year to you (family, friends and caregivers) both within and out of New Zealand.

Without further a do I would like to give you a few tips when navigating through this blog so that you can make the most out of it.

It's purpose: the purpose of this blog is to collect photos, student work and videos that celebrate the learning in room 3 throughout the year. This is an excellent way to be able to share your child's learning with relatives overseas, as well as in other parts of New Zealand.

The tabs: If you glance up at the top of the web page you will notice that there are a variety of different tabs you can click on. Each tab will take you to different subjects. The tabs that are called 'passport to the world' etc are our topics for each term. I will let you know which topic is covered in which term:

Term 1/2: Passport to the world.
Term 2/3: May the force be with you.
Term 3/4: Bridging the gap.

Leaving comments: I encourage everyone who regularly visits our blog to leave messages in response to our posts. It is such an experience for the kids to regularly read the responses that their good work and efforts are receiving- it will definitely encourage them to carry on with their good work! Even relatives living overseas are able to comment on the children's work!

Where do you do this? If you have a look at the bottom of this page it has a space for you to write a comment. This should be presented on every page you go on.

Translator: At the bottom right hand side of the page there should be a translator, which translates the entire webpage you are viewing into any of the available language. So family in Europe or Asia can follow along and enjoy the journey in their own languages.

Search bar: You can also use the search bar (located at the top right of the page). You can even try searching your child's name!

For the rest, enjoy this blog as it reveals to their progress and learning!!

Best Wishes,
Miss Kraan
